Good Morning Britain has announced a major shake-up in its scheduling – leaving ITV timetables in even more disarray.

The programme, fronted by Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard, runs from 6am until 9am on weekdays, though in the wake of the Queen's death last week, also aired this weekend.

But that wasn't the only huge change, as presenter Ben announced that Monday's episode (September 12) would run until 10am – despite ITVHub's official schedule still slating it to end at the usual time.

The schedule still says GMB will be replaced by ITV Regional News from 9.20am.

It comes amid a huge change in ITV's scheduling, with Loose Women, Lorraine and Emmerdale all slashed from the schedules today.

Emmerdale aired at 6.35pm on Sunday night instead with a surprise double-bill to catch up on the episodes axed on Thursday and Friday last week.

On Monday (September 12) GMB will be followed by an hour-long ITV News special entitled: The King’s Tour – Westminster, with This Morning airing at the later time of 11am.

Queen Elizabeth II: Lying At Rest will air at 1pm, so viewers can get the latest Royal news while the Queen's coffin is in Scotland.

Soap fans will be delighted to hear that Coronation Street will finally air its missed Friday episode tonight from 8pm – though it is unclear how the soap will catch up by airing its Monday instalment.

Even rival channel BBC has seen its schedules disrupted, with the Strictly Come Dancing launch show thrown into chaos amid the current shake-up.

A TV insider said: "For everybody asking: It's still 50/50 as to whether #Strictly will air next weekend.

"The question the BBC will be weighing up is whether it's appropriate to air it on the bank holiday weekend of the funeral and period of national mourning."

Adding: "Two most likely scenarios if the launch show does NOT air next weekend: a) Launch show airs on Sat 24th Sept.

"Live shows begin on Sat 1st Oct (series will be a week shorter than planned). b) Launch shows airs on Fri 23rd Sept. Live shows begin on Sat 24th Sept as planned."

Some fans have said entertainment shows should go ahead as a form of "escapism" from the grief the country is feeling.

One Twitter user penned: "Don't want to sound insensitive – but I think this Saturday's #Strictly Launch show should go ahead but be placed on @BBCTwo or @bbcthree whilst BBC one continues News coverage. If Gogglebox and Bake Off can go ahead – then so can Strictly it's escapism."
