ITV Im A Celebs Grace Dent to be paid in full despite quitting

I’m A Celeb: Grace Dent at the airport after leaving the jungle

Grace Dent will reportedly be paid in full by ITV bosses after she suddenly quit I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! after eight days.

The TV food critic, who was spotted heading back to the UK on Monday, left the jungle on “medical grounds”.

It has been since claimed Grace will receive the reported £100,000 she was due to make for appearing on the show.

According to the Daily Mail, the rules for payment state that a celebrity will receive their full fee if they stay in camp for at least 72 hours.

Express.co.uk reached out to ITV for comment but a spokesperson declined to comment.

The rule apparently came to light after Gemma Collins quit after three days when she appeared in the 2014 series.

The reality star claimed she never received the payment in full and what she did get, she gave to charity.

Her rep confirmed: “I can confirm that the £4,800 fee was the full and final fee that Gemma received for her participation in last year’s I’m A Celebrity.”

The publication also reported that Olivia Attwood received her full payment of £125,000 despite leaving the jungle after 24 hours.

On Monday, a spokesperson for ITV confirmed Grace had left in a statement.

They said: “Unfortunately Grace Dent has left the show on medical grounds.

“She has been a great campmate and will be missed by her fellow celebrities and viewers alike.”

However, it was later reported that the TV chef left because she was chosen to do another Bushtucker Trial.

The source said: “Knowing that she would be facing another tough challenge was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

“It was mutually agreed that she would stand down from the competition, it was clear that she wasn’t being herself, she had lost all energy when usually she’s witty and fun to be around.”

They went on to claim ITV’s welfare team stepped in as they could see Grace was struggling.

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! returns tonight at 9pm on ITV.
