Jacqueline Jossa has revealed that enjoyed her return to EastEnders last year so much that she could ‘stay there forever’.
The actress, who played Lauren Branning on the BBC One soap, reprised her role in December for Dot Cotton’s funeral episode.
Lauren’s comeback was well-received by fans of the show, who have been hoping to see her back on a more permanent basis.
Discussing her return to Walford, Jacqueline said: ‘When I went back recently I was nervous, but I was literally like: “I could stay here forever”. I love it. This is the best job in the world.
‘I’ve really realised that that’s where I am my happiest and my passion and enjoyment comes from that side of things.
‘Since going back to EastEnders I’ve had that little fire in my belly again, like there is that part of me that isn’t fulfilled anymore, that creative side’
Jacqueline added that, despite her doing other things in her career – such as winning I’m A Celebrity – it’s Lauren Branning that fans often talk to her about.
But would she up for reprising her role again?
‘I would 100% put the leather jacket back on and the boots and get going, because it’s the best job in the world, and it’s still my dream job,’ she added to Soap From The Box podcast.
Make to happen, EastEnders!
Jacqueline previously denied rumours that she was ‘in talks’ to return, after speculation commenced that Lauren would stage another comeback.
‘I am not on the way back to the Square full time,’ she clarified on Instagram. ‘It’s not in talks, I 100 per cent have not confirmed a return.’
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
