Piers Morgan praises Susanna Reid after toe-curling Matt Hancock interview

Presenter Piers Morgan took to Twitter to praise Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley on Tuesday morning.

The TV co-hosts grilled former MP Matt Hancock over his pandemic scandal and his I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here stint.

Watching from home, Piers described the interview as "toe-curling" and praised the presenters for giving him a grilling while accusing Matt of "whining" on air.

He also addressed Matt labelling his last interview with Piers on Good Morning Britain as the "Piers Morgan mincer" and stated that he was just "being told off" and not being held to account.

Piers tweeted: "Matt Hancock, during a toe-curling interview (great job Susanna & Richard) on @GMB just whined it was ‘ridiculous’ that I held him to tough vigorous account during the pandemic,"

"If I’d known what a lying rule-breaking toad he really was, I’d have gone much harder," he added.

One viewer responded to the 57-year old's tweet, writing that they'd have preferred to see Piers question Matt instead of watching Susanna, Richard and Kate Garraway go at him.

"Personally matt being grilled by three journalists is very unprofessional, having an interview with a 1 to 1 (by Piers) would have been better," they wrote.

A second echod: "Would love you to get him on Uncensored."

Matt's exclusive TV appearance comes after he announced that £10,000 of his £320,000 fee from featuring on I'm A Celeb would go to charity.

The Good Morning hosts asked the former Health Secretary if the money was his driving force for appearing on the show, which he denied.

Richard later asked, "Would you have done it for a tenner?" and Susanna followed up by asking why his donation was so small in comparison to his fee.

"I gave a substantial amount and I think it's still decent," Matt responded.
