Jay falls apart in EastEnders as he says goodbye to Lola ahead of brain surgery

As we continue to see Lola Pearce’s (Danielle Harold) devastating brain tumour storyline unfold in EastEnders, the focus is on Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) next week as he struggles to remain strong for his partner.

At the doctors once more, Lola listens in as her brain tumour operation is explained.

Afterwards, she’s left feelings hopeful, but Jay finds it incredibly tough to take everything in.

Back at home, the emotional scenes continue as Lexi (Isabella Brown) and Lola plan for next year’s Halloween.

As the week progresses, a stressed Jay has an altercation with Ravi (Aaron Thiara) which Ben (Max Bowden) witnesses, fully aware his best friend needs some help.

At the hospital, Lola is concerned with the aftereffects of her surgery, anxiously waiting for the doctors to take her into theatre.

In Walford, Ben, Mitch (Roger Griffiths) and Harvey (Ross Boatman) work together and step in to help Jay at the funeral parlour, allowing him a few hours to see Lola at hospital.

Jay attempts to remain strong in front of her, but Lola sees right through him, and they share a loving moment right before she is taken away.

Refusing to leave hospital until Lola’s surgery is complete, Jay waits patiently…but what will the result be?
