JESSIE J has opened up about the loss of her dear friend Jamal Edwards and says his death still "doesn't feel real" to her.
During an intimate acoustic performance to raise money for her former music academy, the Brit School, she revealed to adoring fans some of the difficulties of coming to grips with grief.
She told the tuned-in crowd the feeling "doesn't go away" as those left behind after a tragic loss try their best to move on.
With the backing of an instrumental played by her talented guitarist, Mateus Asato, she revealed her close pal Jamal is never far from her thoughts.
She said: "I miss Jamal so much. I know there's probably people here that knew him. It still doesn't feel real to me. He was a good friend of mine."
Jamal created online music platform SBTV which featured some today's most popular artists like Jessie as well as Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, Emilia Sandé and Rita Ora.

She said: "Every time I feel sad, I just go 'I have to live a little harder'. I'm so grateful to be here."
Encouraging fans to think of their own special person they have lost, she told the crowd to keep them in their thoughts each they live each day.
She said: "I want you to think of that person, or those people that you miss.
"I want you to see them in the bird that flies past your window and feel them in the breeze that brushes your face.

Jessie continued: "Jamal's incredible. It's his birthday next week, so I'm thinking of him and many other people that we all miss."

Throughout the showcase, she took a few moments to acknowledge Dave the show as she urged men to speak up if they're struggling while also encouraging those who adore her to adore themselves.
Jessie said: "Love yourself more than you love me.
"I know some of you have been going through it. I know some of you are going through it."
