I’m A Celeb: Josie discusses getting her This Morning job
Josie Gibson recalled being asked to replace Holly Willoughby as This Morning host in a last-minute phone call.
The ITV star was chatting on Wednesday’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! with Sam Thompson and Fred Sirieix about how their careers launched and confessed the first time she hosted the daytime magazine show was as a last resort.
Detailing how she worked on the channel doing competitions, she went on: “And then one day I got the call… I was on my way to a competition at work.
“And I got the call to host This Morning… Everybody was ill!”
“How did you feel when they called you and asked if you could come in?” Fred asked.

“I thought they were joking,” she admitted. “They said, ‘Where are you?’ I said, ‘I’m on the M4 on the way to a competition.’
“I honestly thought they were joking around – I thought they were having a laugh.
“I was like, ‘OK haha,’ and then they were like, ‘No, this is serious, we need you to present the main show’.
“And I thought… ‘Well, what about the competition?’

“They went, ‘There is no competition without a main show, Josie!'”
“Were you nervous?” Sam probed, to which the presenter responded: “Erm, well I didn’t really have time to be because basically, I had 15 minutes to get ready.
“So I went straight in, had 15 minutes in makeup, and then straight to the studio floor.
“So I didn’t have time to be nervous at all.”
The Big Brother star quipped: “They must have been going through the phonebook like, ‘Alison, no she’s busy, Holly’s ill, Rochelle’s ill…'”
Josie seems to be settling well into camp life, and while she’s avoided any dramas of her own so far she’s been on-hand to comfort campmate Jamie Lynn Spears as she’s been struggling with missing her children.
Talking about how Jamie almost left the show, Josie stated on Wednesday: “I’m so glad Jamie stayed.”
