Kaley Cuoco is worlds away from The Big Bang Theory in first look at new assassin thriller Role Play | The Sun

BIG Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco is a deadly assassin in her new movie, which she also produced. 

Amazon Prime has dropped the first trailer for the new thriller comedy Role Play, which also stars Wonder Woman's Connie Nielsen and Lawmen’s Bass Reeves.


The new thriller film Role-play follows married couple Big Bang Theory star Kaley’s character Emma and Bass’s character David as they try to dodge danger and stay alive.

Emma’s dangerous secrets surface while the couple are roleplaying during a night away from their kids.

David gets the shock of his life when he is arrested and taken into police custody, only to learn that his wife is an international killing machine.  

In the trailer, Emma is seen telling her husband."I just want a normal life, but I have a family to protect.”

The synopsis reads: “Emma has a wonderful husband and two kids in the suburbs of New Jersey – she also has a secret life as a world-renowned assassin for hire, which she has been hiding the entire time.

“It’s a secret that her husband David discovers when the couple decide to spice up their marriage with a little role play at a local hotel. Their innocent night of fun becomes a deadly adventure where he attempts to help his wife as she does one last job.”

Love Actually's Bill Nighy plays Emma's ruthless enemy, Bob, with Connie playing a supporting role.

As well as starring in the movie, Kaley also helped produce the film, with French filmmaker Thomas Vincent as director.

The 37-year-old has had a successful and extensive career, including voicing DC Comics anti-heroine Harley Quinn in her own animated series and the upcoming spin-off Kite Man: Hell Yeah!

Most recently, the Primetime Emmy Award-nominated actress's comedy series titled Based on a True Story was renewed for two more seasons.

She has also just finished her show's second season, which she executively produced called The Flight Attendant.

In 2022, she featured in a new comedy film, Meet Cute, starring Pete Davidson. 

The star’s personal life has also been blossoming as she went public and announced her relationship with partner Tom Pelphrey in May 2022.

A few months after going public, the couple revealed that they were expecting a child.

Earlier this year, they welcomed her daughter Matilda to the world.

Role Play will air on Prime Video on January 12, 2024.
