Kate Ferdinand worries fans with cryptic post about 'crying' and 'drowning' on Mother's Day | The Sun

KATE Ferdinand has worried fans after sharing a cryptic post on Mother's Day about 'crying' and 'drowning'

The star, who rose to fame on The Only Way Is Essex, revealed her husband Rio Ferdinand and their children had once failed to buy her a Mother's day card.

Kate, 31, who is currently pregnant with her second child with the former professional footballer and is step-mum to Rio's children whom he shared with his late wife Rebecca Ellison, was left sobbing on her first Mother's day.

The star shared a cryptic post this Mother's day to her 1.4 million followers, stating: "Cry, let that water go. You were drowning."

Explaining the heartbreaking day, Kate detailed to her husband on their Blended podcast : "I wasn't a biological mum. I think it was our first Mother's Day – maybe I'd been living here about six months, something like that.

"And although I wasn't a biological mum I kind of felt like I'd taken on the mum role. For me, going from living at home on my own to taking the kids to school, and cooking them dinner, I felt like a mum."

She continued: "I really thought I might get a card from you, and I didn't get a card from you.

"I felt bad to express that in front of you because you guys had lost your mum, and the kids have lost their mum. So I just went in my room and I just sobbed my heart out – seriously."

Sharing a clip of the podcast to her Instagram, the star explained in the caption: "Todays mini episode is all around Mothers Day & how the day & the way we manage it has evolved over time."

Fans of the podcast shared an outpouring of love in the comments, with one writing: "Love what you stand for and empowering not only you blended family but other families too."
