Richard Madeley mocks the BBC over 100th birthday celebrations

The Good Morning Britain host mentioned the BBC were celebrating 100 years and commented the corporation kept “telling us endlessly” about the historic milestone. Following Richard Madeley’s comments, co-host Susanna Reid immediately balanced the tone by wishing her competitor a happy birthday.
Teeing up Strictly Come Dancing’s Hamza Yassin’s appearance on GMB, a sighing Richard jibed: “As they keep telling us, endlessly… it’s their 100th birthday.”
Clearly frustrated by the network’s celebrations, he added: “Yes, we get it BBC!”
Susanna Reid, who looked bemused by his remarks, cut in to smile and say: “Happy birthday, BBC.”
“Happy birthday, yeah,” Richard smirked before he explained: “You can find out how the wildlife cameraman and CBeebies presenter Hamza Yaseen is going to be making his own tribute to the BBC’s100th birthday.”
It comes as the broadcaster marks the huge milestone and announces “exciting” changes to celebrate the centenary.
Earlier this year, a BBC history website was launched, and this week will see a special week of programming.

“During our special week of BBC 100 content, audiences can look forward to a mix of exciting new commissions alongside some of our best-loved shows, as they mark a century of broadcasting in their own unique way.

The BBC has announced the celebratory programming will provisionally broadcast between October 22 and 29, starting with a BBC 100 Strictly Come Dancing BBC 100 special on Saturday, October 22.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain, Hamza Yassin explained his dance would honour the BBC and put together his passions no natural history with his dance partner Jowita Przystał’s love of dance.
The contestant achieved the highest score of the series so far last weekend, with a score of 39 following his salsa.
The pair expressed excitement for to mark the occasion while Richard and Susanna applauded their highly-praised dance.
Other BBC specials include celebratory episodes of Doctor Who, Top Gear and Antiques Roadshow.
The One Show, renamed The One Hundred Show, as well as Morning Live, will include special centenary content every day between October 24 and 28.
Later in the year, Pointless Celebrities will celebrate the centenary with special guests including Scott Mills, Tony Blackburn and Peter Purves.
