Legendary sitcom finally hitting Netflix after months of pleading from fans – and it's just weeks away | The Sun

A FAN favourite sitcom is set to hit Netflix in just a few weeks after UK watchers begged the streaming giant to release it.

The latest season of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia aired in the US two months ago, and now the anticipation is almost over for Brits too.


Season 16 will be finally be available on the platform for viewers in the UK and Ireland from September 15.

The American show follows five dysfunctional friends who refer to themselves as 'The Gang' as they run an Irish dive bar.

It has attracted a huge fanbase over the previous 15 seasons, and become one of the longest running US sitcoms.

The award winning show features well known jokester Danny DeVito, who plays degenerate dad Frank Reynolds.

The last season saw The Gang travel to Ireland for a series of disastrous shenanigans, ending with them disposing of a dead body over the side of a cliff.

The next series is sure to showcase even more surprises.

When Netflix announced the news that the show will soon be available outside of the US, fans took to Twitter to share their excitement.

One celebrated saying: "FINALLY!!!"
