Les Dennis Strictly partner sparks concern after injury during routine

Strictly: Nancy gets feedback with blood on her neck

Strictly Come Dancing fans have taken to social media to voice their concerns after Nancy Xu appeared to sustain an injury to her neck following her debut dance with Les Dennis.

The 32-year-old professional dancer performed the tango with former Coronation Street star Les in the first of the live shows.

However, as they stood in front of the judges after their energetic routine, viewers noticed that something wasn’t right with Nancy.

Then as the pair joined presenter Claudia Winkleman to hear their scores, Nancy could be seen holding a tissue to her neck and she appeared to have blood underneath her chin.

Heading over to X, formerly known as Twitter, viewers shared their concerns questioning what was wrong.

It appeared that the judges agreed with that sentiment following a shaky performance from the telly legend, who performed to Don’t You Want Me which was originally a hit for the Human League.

Craig Revel Horwood said he “gave it a good go”, while head judge Shirley Ballas said he should be proud of himself.

However, the scores didn’t reflect the comments and Les received a total score of 16, getting just a two from Craig.

Les and Krishnan Guru-Murthy are the favourites to leave the contest first this year, according to bettingsites.co.uk

The Channel 4 news anchor is the 2/1 favourite to be the first celebrity voted out in this year’s series, with Les next in line at 3/1.

Strictly Come Dancing returns next Saturday on BBC One.
