The Deputy Prime Minister has insisted Boris Johnson was not aware of allegations made against the Conservative MP. Pincher was investigated when he was a foreign office minister but it did not lead to any formal sanction, Raab stated. However, he had to clap back at Kay for “constantly interrupting” him throughout the interview.
Kay quizzed the politician about Pincher who has been “dominating the news agenda”.
Raab interjected and asked Kay to “let me answer the question” before the broadcaster continued to talk over the minister.
Raab added: “Forgive me, you must allow me to answer the question fully on such a sensitive issue rather than constantly interrupting.
“I don’t know and that is news to me that the Prime Minister was briefed on the specific complaint that was made and then the outcome because it did not lead to a formal disciplinary grievance process, let alone a formal action.”
