Linda Robson has revealed the thoughts behind the Loose Women panellist’s reaction to them not winning the NTA for the best daytime TV show. They were pipped to the award by This Morning and when host’s Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby took to the stage, there was no applause from Linda and her fellow ITV stars.
However, the Birds of a Feather actress was keen to distance herself from any talk of a fall-out with the under-fire This Morning hosts.
She told The Sun: “There is no issue between me, Holly and Phil. We just showed that we were disappointed that we lost, and we are allowed to be disappointed.”
“It wasn’t that we didn’t clap, we were just going, ‘Oh no, not again, we haven’t won this year.'”
Linda declared: “It wasn’t deliberately not clapping them; we were just sad for us.”

When Strictly Come Dancing pair Nikita Kumzin and Ellie Simmonds announced the winners of the long-running show, it wasn’t just the Loose Women cast who seemed disappointed.
Some members of the audience could also be heard booing the ITV presenters as they collected their award.
Phil was visibly moved upon receiving the award and appeared to address the negative publicity he and Holly have faced.
“Please don’t think we ever get complacent,” Phillip began as he held the trophy.
“And please don’t think we ever take this for granted.”
The presenter continued: “It means so much to us every year, especially this year.
“We have the most amazing team, I have the best friend, and we have the best boss. All of our team are up there.”
Since they were accused of jumping the queue at the Queen’s Lying-in-State at Westminster Hall, Phil and Holly have struggled to shake off viewer’s frustrations.
Although Holly did issue a statement on This Morning following the furore.
She explained to viewers: “Like hundreds of accredited broadcasters and journalists, we were given official permission to access the hall.”
Holly continued: “None of the journalists or broadcasters there took anyone’s place in the queue and no one passed by the Queen.
“We, of course, respected those rules, however, we realise it may have looked like something else.
“Therefore, (we) totally understand the reaction. Please know that we would never jump a queue.”
Following the backlash, they are tipped to be replaced in the new year, with Ladbrokes offering 6/4 odds on them not returning to ITV screens for 2023.
Alex Apati from the bookmakers said: “Perhaps it’s time for a change on the This Morning sofas.”
“With Holly and Phil far from being in the British public’s good books right now, it could well be a case of New Year, new presenters, if the latest odds are anything to go by.”
