Judgement day arrives for EastEnders landlady Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) next week, as she goes to court to learn her fate.

The icon is facing a potential prison sentence for driving under the influence of alcohol, not to mention doing so while in charge of baby daughter Annie.

Of course, the big twist here is that Linda was framed by archenemy Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) who, as viewers know, set her up in a bid to get her out of Mick’s (Danny Dyer) life once and for all.

Linda almost died as a result of the catastrophic car crash that ensued, and she subsequently suffered from amnesia, unable to recall the events leading to the accident.

Mick, meanwhile, has been determined to help Linda remember what transpired on the day in question, much to Janine’s horror, but the focus next week is firmly on the landlady herself, as her day in court arrives.

Linda is understandably tense on the morning of the hearing, but she soon receives another devastating blow, as she learns that her divorce from Mick is official. Zack Hudson (James Farrar) offers her support.

Janine, meanwhile, is not too pleased when she learns that Mick plans on visiting Linda in prison if she ends up behind bars.

Determined to destroy her competition, the schemer turns to Jada Lennox (Kelsey Calladine-Smith) and proceeds to blackmail her into assisting her to bring Linda down once and for all.

Ahead of her hearing, Linda says her goodbyes to both Ollie and Annie, before setting off for court with Mick by her side – where he evidently belongs.

As proceedings commence, Linda takes to the stand and bravely delivers a passionate speech about her mistakes.

Her words evidently impact the judge, who responds by deciding not to sentence her to prison, leaving both Mick and Linda in complete and utter shock.

Linda subsequently enters The Vic and joins in on the festivities, much to Janine’s dismay, but her happiness is short-lived, as Zack arrives with some alarming news.

The question is: just what is it?
