The eighth series of Love Island came to an end last night (August 1), but ITV bosses are already searching for sexy singletons interested in taking part in next year’s series.

Telly bosses have started to search for 2023 Islanders as Laura Whitmore officially opened the applications after the grand final came to an end.

For those hoping to land a spot on the hugely popular ITV2 dating show, contestants simply have to fill out an application form with only a handful of eligibility requirements to pass.

However, there have been some small changes made to the application forms themselves compared to previous years.

Every applicant looking to secure a spot on the show must be at least 18 years old at the time of submitting their application and would need to be available to participate in the show for a minimum of 10 consecutive weeks during the summer of 2023.

The application also states that you cannot be currently employed by Love Island, Motion, ITV or any company owned by ITV plc, and you must not know a live-in partner or immediate relative of someone who works on the series.

In addition to these specific requirements, every applicant must already hold or be able to obtain a valid passport until at least six months after the programme end date.

The advertisement reads: “ITV2 are looking for vibrant singles from across the UK who want to head to the sun, in search of love.

“The chosen cast will spend time in a luxury villa, getting to know one another, but to remain in paradise they must win the hearts of the public and their fellow Islanders who ultimately decide their fate on Love Island.

ITV bosses will keep you application for up to one year during which time you will be considered for any series of the programme but after this your details will be deleted and you will have to apply again for the following series.

An audition or casting period is yet to be confirmed and it is understood that applications will remain open until an end date is published don the official Love Island website.

And it looks like good news for anticipating applicants and feverish fans as the next series of Love Island is only a matter of months away.

ITV have confirmed that Winter Love Island will be returning to our screens at the beginning of 2023, meaning fans won’t have to wait the usual 12 months to get their fix of the reality TV show.

The first series of the winter edition aired back in 2020 during the peak of the global pandemic where Islanders were jetted off to South Africa where Paige Turley and Finn Tapp were crowned the winners of the ITV show.
