Love Island fans were in stunned hysterics tonight after Catherine Agbaje tried porridge for the "first time in her life".
The smash hit reality dating show has offered viewers no end of drama and chaos after making its much anticipated return on June 5. The beloved show airs every night, much to the delight of its devoted fans, but on Saturday evenings, ITV airs a special 'Unseen Bits' episode.
Fans were given fresh insight into the inner workings of the sprawling Spanish villa, as the budding reality stars continue their quest for true love. Tonight, Catherine, 22, confessed to pal Jess Harding that she'd never eaten porridge before.
In the outdoor kitchen, Jess whipped up a bowl and added some fruit before doing a countdown as a nervous Catherine tried a spoonful of the common breakfast dish. After chewing for a few moments, she said: "I'm getting a bit of Weetabix."
She then simply added: "Do you know what? It's doable." Commentator Iain Stirling was astounded, and said in a voice over: "Is that it?" As with all things Love Island, viewers flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts on the comedic moment.
One baffled fan said: "The girl lives in the UK and never had porridge before?!" while another said: "These girls have never had porridge before?? Dfkm Catherine".
A third commented: "There are people in this world who have never eaten porridge???????" But one fan was impressed to see another side to the reality star and penned: "Catherine is so fun producers need to show her more".
Another agreed and penned: "love island is shady asf for showing Catherine's personality more on unseen". But one remained baffled that Catherine had never eaten the food and added: "no way has she never had porridge".
The smash hit reality dating series has seemingly had no end of drama after returning for its tenth season, with many viewers consistently branding it "chaotic". There's been shock dumpings, recouplings, and fall outs galore as this year's round-up of singletons embark on their quest for true love.
Last night saw Catherine's potential beau André Furtado dumped from the Island, alongside bombshell Charlotte Sumner. The 21 year old remains hopeful of reconnecting with Dublin native Catherine on the outside.
He said: "The way that we clicked that second time was like no other. Both of us opened up to each other a lot more, in a deeper and more romantic way – it was amazing to be honest."
As she's still in the villa, there's the chance she may meet someone else and develop a connection with them, with André confident he'll be able to be "happy for her", but he added: "I will be even happier if it's with me." It's her ability to offer an "unbiased perspective", as well as her "beauty" and "charm" that's captured André's heart.
