With just days left to go until Love Island crowns its winning couple, the remaining contestants in contention for the coveted cash prize continued their romances on Thursday evening with their final dates of the series.
However fans at home weren’t impressed with one islander, Paige Thorne as she appeared to snub her former flame Jacques O’Neill as she headed off on a date with Adam Collard.
Kicking things off, viewers saw Paige and Adam leave the villa to enjoy a romantic date aboard a yacht, their first solo outing, since Adam juggled three dates when he arrived in the villa.
Dressed in a chic figure hugging bandage dress, Paige couldn’t hide how smitten she was as she sat down to enjoy a meal with her beau, before opening up to him about how much meeting him had changed her life in the two short weeks they had been dating.
During the discussion, Paige told Adam that she “hadn’t stopped smiling” since he arrived in the villa, as she told the bombshell that she had her eye on him from day one and he would always be the one she would pick.
Later on, Paige told her date that “he ticked all of her boxes” and that she could genuinely see a future with him going forwards.
“I really do see a future with you on the outside,” she told Adam. “I’m really excited to get to experience everything we’ve talked about with you.”
Paige wasn’t the only one appearing to be smitten in the episode either, as Adam also echoed the sentiment as he told Paige how she had made him a better person.
“Obviously this is my second time around, I’ve been here before, but I’ve definitely not been the same type of person I have been before," gushed the bombshell.
“I don’t want to say Adam 2.0 because I’ve definitely been myself, but I always say it only takes one person to change, and you definitely brought out a way, way, better side of me.”
While Paige and Adam are loving their blossoming relationship, some fans at home were unimpressed by Paige’s undying affections as they felt she was completely snubbing Jacques, who had previously coupled up with her throughout their time on the show.
The pair had initially been incredibly close, with Jacques even vowing to wait for Paige outside the villa when he quit the show, so that they could be reunited.
Heartbroken by his departure, fans at home saw the Welsh paramedic break down in tears – however all of that appears to have been forgotten since Adam arrived on the scene.
“I'm just not buying Paige and Adam,” wrote one fan. “She was that into Jacques that she wouldn't give Jay a chance but as soon as well known Adam came in it was somehow different and now after 2 weeks they're on about meeting family.”
Another fan agreed, adding: How has Paige moved on this fast though, really? I’m glad she moves on from Jacques, he was not good but is it not weird that she was crying and kissing Jacques goodbye two weeks ago and now is e lucite with Adam “never felt this before” huh??”
A third then weighed in, writing: “I’m sorry but the way Paige speaks about her time with Jacques is actually rude like making out like she had the worst experience ever for 5 weeks just cos she’s copy and pasted it with Adam”
While a fourth didn’t hold back as they commented: “Always thought Paige was really different from Jacques but watching how quickly she forgot him when he left has me thinking they’re actually quite alike”
