Love Island star Lacey Edwards has opened up on the show and shared some thoughts about her time on the show.
The reality TV contestant spoke exclusively to Daily Star about her time on Love Island and revealed that producers showed her episodes that hindered her chances at love.
Lacey also revealed that they told her she would be going in near the start of the series, but was kept in quarantine until the final week.

She explained: “I had an idea of what I thought I was going into. Everyone was on the rocks at this point, was like: ‘Oh my god, everyone’s ready to explore new things,’ but that [had happened] about six days [before]. By the time I went in, everyone was all loved up.”
Lacey was shown clips of footage that had been filmed previously and the couples were all settled by the time she made it onto the show.
She continued: “By the time they edit it and put it on TV, what you’re watching already happened ages ago. That was really different from what I thought it was going to be like […] I think it’s such a great experience, don’t get me wrong, but for me personally because of how late I went in, it did alter my experience.”
The star admitted that she was told by producers that she would be “one of the first bombshells”, but was kept in quarantine for 19 days until the final stretch.
Edwards’ experience was particularly frustrating as she had left her whole life behind for a chance at love on the ITV show.
She admitted: “Talking from my experience, I quit my job in France – I moved country to come back and do this. Don’t get me wrong, everything happens for a reason, I wouldn’t change my experience, but that was a big move for me to [only] have less than a week in there.
“If I would have been more aware, if they’d have said: ‘Lacey, we love you and want you as a bombshell but it will be towards the end,’ even if I had that indication that [I would be going in] towards the end.”
Lacey suggested that the broadcaster should make contestants more aware of when they will be expected to enter the villa.
She said: “The only thing I would say for ITV to do better would be to try and give people more indication of when they would be going in. I know it’s hard, they explain it to you and it’s to go with the storyline, I understand, but they must roughly know when they’re going to do a dumping to then let someone in.
“That was my biggest frustration with Love Island – if I was going in the last week, I probably wouldn’t have quit my whole life in France.”
