Love Island’s Lana becomes Ron’s ‘first girlfriend’ as couple go official – but fans left confused

Love Island contestants Ron Hall and Lana Jenkins have made things official as Lana became Ron's "first girlfriend".

Ron and Lana have had a rocky relationship from the outset, but in recent episodes, they seemed to be stronger than ever and were very much loved up.

During Sunday’s episode, which also saw Claudia Fogartybreakdown over her relationship with Casey O’Gorman, Ron, 25, pulled Lana aside for a chat on the infamous terrace.

He said: “I’ve never had a relationship or anything like that, so for me it’s like a massive thing. And we’ve said to each other about being exclusive, but that’s not enough for me. I want the title."

“I want you to be my girlfriend,” he added, to which Lana responded, “Are you asking me right now?”

Ron replied: “I am asking you, will you be my girlfriend.”

After Lana confirmed her own feelings with a simple “yes”, the two embraced and shared numerous kisses as they giggled.

Moments later, the official couple appeared on the terrace, where they addressed their fellow islanders below and Ron shouted: “Guys, I’ve got a Mrs.”

Sanam Harrinanan and Kai Fagan could be seen clapping, and the rest of the islanders seemed overjoyed by the news.

However, fans were left confused during the scenes as they were convinced Ron previously said he has been single for four years, which would likely mean he's had a girlfriend before.

One confused fan wrote: "Ron said he’s been single for 4 years…. But Lana is his first girlfriend? The math isn’t mathing #LoveIsland."

A different account put: "Ron saying he’s been single for 4 years but yet Lana is his first gf? ????????? #loveisland."

While another confused viewer said: "Lana is Ron’s first girlfriend but he’s been in love before? What was that? A situationship? #loveisland."
