Love Island’s Lochan tells Whitney he’s ‘serious’ about romance in bid to take things further

Love seems to be in the air on tonight’s Love Island as Whitney Adebayo and Lochan Nowacki's romance continues to blossom. In a heartwarming moment, Lochan takes Whitney aside for a private chat on the terrace, revealing his deep feelings for her and his desire to take their relationship to the next level.

In tonight’s episode, Lochan confesses: “We’ve been basically together from day one, it’s been four weeks and I know how much I like you, and I know how serious I am about you. I wanted to feel like my parents could see that and my parents were happy and they were.”

Lochan adds: “I do know that there is no one else here or outside that I’m trying to get to know. I do see you being my girlfriend on the outside. But for me that next step, what I want to take with you is being exclusive. If you’re at that same point as well?”

We will have to wait until tonight to see if Whitney feels the same way and if she is ready to take their relationship to the next level.

Some have even claimed that Whitney is carrying her partner all the way to the final, after she and Lochan were voted the most popular couple. Former Islander Abigail Rawlings shared in a chat with the Mirror that she felt Whitney would be crowned this year's Love Island winner.

"I feel like Whitney will probably win but she's completely carrying Lochan because everyone just adores Whitney," Abi said.

"Lochan seems like the loveliest guy, don't get me wrong, but I do feel like if they win it's because everyone is just in love with Whitney."

The former Islander went on to say that she believes Whitney should have her very own TV show.

However, other viewers have taken to social media to theorise that producers are "plotting" Whitney's "downfall". Last Thursday night's episode of the show saw a number of islanders vote Whitney and Lochan as the show's smuggest couple, and this was then followed by a falling out between Whitney and Ella Thomas, where she called her former pal "selfish."

Following this, fans of the show took to Twitter to accuse the show's producers of "crafting Whitney's downfall" and attempting to give her a "villain edit."

One wrote: "These Whitney clips are so unnecessary, the producers are plotting her downfall [crying emoji] #LoveIsland"

"The producers told the islanders whitney was popular to start her downfall #loveisland" argued another, while a third added: "Not being funny, so the producers want to give Whitney the villain edit, please tell me who they would rather we like instead? #LoveIsland."

And another tweeted: "This beef over a bathroom could’ve been left out the edit, it’s giving villain edit for Whitney and you proper hate to see it. I will still be voting for Whitney #loveisland".
