Former Love Island contestant Paige Thorne was met with praise from fans as she stook with ambulances workers during the NHS strikes.

Paige, who worked as a paramedic before joining the hit reality show, took to Instagram to share a video live from the picket line, adding the caption: "Supporting ambulance strikes."

The 25-year-old then pouted for a sweet selfie which showed her wearing a black beanie hat with a badge on the front which read: "Unite The Union," with their logo.

Over on Reddit, fans praised the former ambulance worker for "using her platform" to raise awareness about the cause.

"I have so much respect for Paige and how she’s using the platform she got from Love Island. What a gal!" one started.

A second put: "Paige is on the picket line today!" followed by a clapping emoji.

A third wrote: "The way that the government treats the NHS workers makes me so mad! Good on her for standing her ground with what she believes in," while another wrote: "Yaaaas strike babe!!!! Up the workers!!!"

A fourth was truly inspired by Paige's solidarity, writing: "Things with love to see, this! Solidarity to workers."

After her stint on the show, Paige told fans that she "couldn't wait" to be returning to her job as a paramedic after she was forced to quit ahead of her appearance on Love Island.

In a Q&A with her 1.5million Instagram followers, she answered a question which said: "What's going to happen with your paramedic job?"

"Going back on a bank basis which means I can pick and choose shifts that suit me. Can't wait," Paige replied before posting snaps of herself in her green uniform.

Paige returned to her old job shortly after signing a six-figure deal with fashion brand Forever Unique, with whom she launched her first clothes collection with.
