There was more heartache in the Love Island villa on Friday night as another re-coupling stunned both the Islanders themselves and viewers at home.
Just one day after the arrival of four new bombshells in the Majorcan villa, the girls were once again given the choice of who they wanted to couple up with.
The drama first started when Paige Thorne received a text informing them all that a re-coupling would be taking place later that night, and that the power of choice now lies in the hands of the girls to decide who they want to try and forge a romance with.
While some girls such as Gemma Owen and Tasha Ghouri opted to stick with their partners, not everyone was keen to maintain the status quo, with the newcomers more than happy to step on their fellow contestant’s toes in pursuit of romance and the show’s cash prize.
But it was Danica Taylor’s decision to couple up with Jamie Allen that tugged at the heartstrings of many fans at home, as we had previously seen her growing close to Reece Ford.
As the shocking scenes unfolded, the Islander’s faces said it all as they looked on in disbelief at the new couple, with Reece himself appearing visibly shaken and forlorn at the snub.
Although he was soon coupled up with Nathalia Campos, who herself delivered a mini pep talk of a speech to try and spare his feelings as she explained: "Any girl would be lucky to have him", many fans couldn't help but feel for the heartbroken star.
Taking to twitter to share their feelings on the subject, which up until now, they hadn’t seen coming one shocked fan wrote: "I felt really bad for Reece but what was Danica realistically supposed to do in that situation? It was painful to watch though."
While another commented: "Reece's facial expression hurt my heart. Poor boy didn't stand a chance."
A third then chimed in: "I feel bad for Reece he was so shy and cute."
A fourth then also remarked: "Rejection hurts deeply …. I feel for Reece . After licking those lips thinking she was going for him."
Not everyone was quite so sympathetic though, with one fan offering up a different take on the recoupling as they tweeted: “I feel like both Nathalia and Reece thought they were going to go in there and cause havoc.
"They’re both rattled cos that hasn’t happened and they ain’t used to it”
