Amazon Prime Video India released Made in Heaven season two and many viewers have already binged through the new episodes and wondering if there be another series.

The series follows wedding planners Tara Khanna (played by Sobhita Dhulipala) and Karan Mehra (Arjun Mathur).

The new series features plenty of light, comedic moments as the pair try to organise the weddings of some often colourful and dysfunctional couples.

There’s also a slice of darkness and a thriller element among the seemingly joyous nuptials to add another dimension to the show.

Amid all of this, the central leads face their own dramas with Tara’s divorce from Adil Khanna (Jim Sarbh) as Karan is dealing with his mother’s illness.

Who plays Meher in Made in Heaven?

Most of the main cast has made a return including Netflix’s Sacred Games star Kalki Koechlin as Faiza Naqvi, Tara’s best friend and Adil’s wife, Shashank Arora as Kabir Basrai and Shivani Raghuvanshi as Jaspreet ‘Jazz’ Kaur.

There are some new faces joining the cast including Mona Singh as Bulbul Jauhari and Trinetra Haldar as fellow wedding planner Meher Chaudhry.

Trinetra is an Indian transgender actress and Made in Heaven marks her first screen role.

Many viewers are keen to know more about her with the star initially having a very different career path as a doctor before moving into the world of showbusiness.

Trinetra is playing a trans character rather than a cis woman in Made in Heaven, which is known for its onscreen queer representation.

In the show, her character struggles with acceptance as a trans woman as well as trying to find love along the way.

The actress posted a sweet selfie on Instagram to her 276,000 followers in which she was sitting next to her TV with Made in Heaven on the screen.

She captioned the snap: “Still processing this madness, will say more words when I have them. Pls to watch! @primevideoin #MadeInHeavenOnPrime [sic].”

Trinetra previously told Outlook in an interview how she gave the audition for Made in Heaven a go because she had “nothing to lose”.

She went on to share her acting aspirations: “I have a long way to go with acting, and I’d like to focus on telling stories and making them authentic to lived experience.

“I don’t know how my performance will be received, but what I take a lot of pride in, is that I auditioned for this, it wasn’t given to me.”

Trinetra said she hoped her portrayal would lead to further acceptance through representation.
