MAFS star Peggy admits she ‘was in and out of hospital’ during filming

MAFS: Preview of new episode with new couples

Married at First Sight star Peggy Rose Lawrence has revealed that she was sent to hospital several during filming for the show because her “eyes were swelling up every morning”.

The 32-year-old discovered that she had an allergic reaction to dust while making the programme, and it caused her huge problems.

“I had the worst allergy to dust, which I didn’t realise I had until moving into the apartments,” she said.

“We were right by Wembley, where they cut the grass three times a day and I had a pollen allergy. So my eyes were swelling up every morning. I was in and out of hospital several times on antibiotics, steroids.

“I had to put makeup on my eyes and I couldn’t even see my lash line and I think it’s an element of stress as well,” she opined.

The E4 reality dating show, sees singletons meet their partner for the very first time when they walk down the aisle to get married.

Peggy was the first bride down the aisle this year and she was paired up with Georges, a 30-year-old sports rehabilitator from Surrey, who admitted that he can “have no filter”.

Even the show’s experts encouraged him to “unpack the bravado” before walking down the aisle, but his reaction to his bride showed that he hadn’t taken this feedback on board.

Ahead of his wedding day, he declared to his groomsmen that he was worried about whether or not the woman that he would meet at the altar would be part of the “itty bitty t***y committee”.

He then shared his desire to be paired with someone with a pair of “melons” or “mommy milkers”.

Even his groomsmen could be seen outwardly cringing at the words that were leaving their friend’s mouth.

All the while, Peggy was completely unaware of the remarks that George had made and appeared to be happy to find that she had been matched with him.

This isn’t Peggy’s first attempt to find love on a TV show, as she also appeared on Take Me Out, in 2012.

Host Paddy McGuinness gave her the nickname “Picky Peggy” due to how fussy she was with who she kept her light on for.
