Love is in the air for Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) in Coronation Street…sort of.

Allow us to explain. Over the past few weeks, Brian’s (Peter Gunn) cousin, Isabella, has been living on the cobbles. She came over from Italy but ended up staying longer than expected due to renovations in her flat.

While Brian initially enjoyed getting to know Isabella and embracing her Italian lifestyle, he’s now in agreement with just about everybody that she’s incredibly annoying and needs to go back to Naples.

The problem? She won’t actually get the message.

After Mary and Isabella clash again, Rita (Barbara Knox) clocks Brian’s wistful gaze at Mary and realises that he has feelings for her.

Later on, Isabella catches Brian on the phone to her builder in Naples and realises that he wants to get rid of her. This leaves Brian with no choice but to admit that he’d like her to leave but when she bursts into tears and reveals that Brian is her only friend, he’s left feeling torn.

However, towards the end of the week, Mary and Brian get what they want and wave Isabella off to the airport.

Brian thanks Mary for her support, but it’s clear that his feelings are running deeper than he’s letting on.

But will Brian tell Mary how he feels?

And of course, does Mary feel the same?
