Masked Singer fans issue same complaint as ITV star joins panel in show shake-up

    The Masked Singer viewers have been left divided as a familiar face joined the panel of the wacky ITV show.

    Host Joel Dommett was back on our screens on Saturday (February 4) with celebrity detectives Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall, Rita Ora and Jonathan Ross.

    However, the famous foursome were joined by guest star Stephen Mulhern during the latest episode.

    The judges have been scratching their heads over the past few weeks trying to figure out whick celebrities are behind the masks.

    Five characters have been unveiled so far and Catchphrase presenter Stephen was on hand to offer his advice with the remaining seven.

    As Stephen shared his thoughts on the remaining contestants, viewers rushed to their keyboards to beg him to join the panel permanently.

    Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: "ITV bosses in utter panic as Stephen Mulhern hasn't been on our screens for a whole 5 minutes, so they add him to the panel on #MaskedSingerUK #MaskedSinger."

    Another added: "Aw, nice to see Stephen Mulhern getting some TV work #MaskedSingerUK."

    A third person said: "Stephen Mulhern! He's bloody everywhere #MaskedSingerUK"

    While a fourth agreed: "Why the hell is Stephen Mulhern on Masked Singer?'

    However, others were delighted to see Stephen back on their screens.

    One fan penned: "Stephen Mulhern on Masked Singer is my favourite thing of the series."

    A second social media user added: "Stephen Mulhern on masked singer all my dreams have come true."

    Someone else said: "#MaskedSingerUK + @StephenMulhern = a match made in TV heaven!"

    Speaking about his Masked Singer debut, Stephen said: "I've never missed an episode."

    Stephen is not the only special guest joining the panel as two other showbiz names will also become detectives over the next couple of weeks.

    Masked Dancer judge Peter Crouch and comedian Lee Mack will put on their detectives hats before the series comes to an end.

    As well as Stephen joining the show, it was revealed that two contestants will be getting the boot.

    The Masked Singer UK airs on ITV1 and ITVX on Saturday evenings
