Masked Singer star Rubbish has been axed from the competition and unveiled as a huge famous face.

Host Joel Dommett was back on television screens on Saturday (January 21) to present the fourth episode of the third series.

Mo Gilligan, Rita Orta, Davina McCall and Jonathan Ross tried their best to work out which celebrities were behind the wacky costumes on the ITV show.

Rubbish, Fawn, Rhino, Pigeon and Jacket Potato all went head to head in a bid to get through to the next stage of the competition.

However, Rubbish and Jacket Potato found themselves in the bottom two and had to perform again for the panel.

The celebrity detectives decided to save Jacket Potato meaning that Rubbish was asked to take off their mask.

Viewers at home were left gobsmacked as Rubbish was exposed as snooker legend Stephen Hendry.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: "Never heard of him #MaskedSingerUK."

    Another added: "It's who?"

A third person said: "Ohh wasn’t expecting that…"

While a fourth wrote: "I have no idea who this guy is #MaskedSingerUK"

It comes after Shirlie and Martin Kemp were revealed as Cat and Mouse last weekend.

The show's first-ever double act got the boot and the husband and wife pair have since opened up about their experience working on the show.

When asked asked if their son, Roman Kemp knows that they have taken part, Shirlie confessed to host Joel: "No this is going to embarrass him.

"Most people say they are doing it for their kids."

Martin added: "We're doing it to embarrass them."

The former EastEnder actor also admitted he thought the judges would be able to guess their identity after making a link to the BBC One soap.

Joel went on to ask if they enjoyed their time in the competition, Martin exclaimed: "Yeah, so much," before his wife chimed in: "It's been amazing!

"I've never done anything so nerve wracking in my life."
