The Masked Singer’s Phoenix stormed off stage after the mystery celebrity took offence at Mo Gilligan’s bizarre theory.
During Saturday’s instalment (January 14) of the hugely popular armchair detective show, viewers saw Knitting, Phoenix, Otter, Jellyfish and Cat and Mouse return to the stage to sing their hearts out for the nation.
This week, the ITV show launched their special time-travel inspired episode which saw the judging panel break out their wackiest costumes in their wardrobe.

Out of all of the performances during the hour-long show, it’s fair to say that Phoenix stole the show with their beautiful jazz version of Get Lucky by Daft Punk.
After receiving a standing ovation for their stellar performance, the masked celebrity was joined by host Joel Dommett where they awaited the judges' theories on what their real identity could be.
Davina McCall suggested that action star Jason Statham could be hidden under the feathers while Jonathan Ross suggested it could be actor David Tennant, who is known to be a fan of the show.
But one prediction that left fans scratching their heads was from Mo Gilligan, who suggested that it could be ITV presenter and magician Stephen Mulhern under the mask.
And it’s fair to say the suggestion didn’t go down well with Phoenix, who jokingly stormed off stage following his bizarre suggestion.
In an attempt to explain himself, Mo said: “I've looked at the clues, I'm thinking magical, someone who does magic. I thought maybe it could be Stephen Mulhern because I don’t know if you’ve noticed…”
It was at this point that Phoenix started shaking their head in disapproval before they walked off set as the studio erupted into laughter.

Luckily, Mo managed to convince the mystery celebrity to come back as he called out: “Stephen, come back Stephen!” as the mythical bird sulked back on stage.
After taking into account his disappointed suggestion, the stand-up comic changed his mind and suggested that it could be former Strictly contestant Joe Sugg behind the mask.
He backed up his second theory as he recalled how the YouTuber’s family had survived the Great Fire of London during an episode of Who Do You Think You Are.
