Matt Hancock will reportedly become the first serving MP to be put through their paces on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.
The 43-year-old was forced to resign as health secretary after he was caught breaching his own social distancing advice when footage leaking of him kissing a married aide Gina Coladangelo.
However, the politician remained as MP for West Suffolk, a role he has held since 2010, although his new reported gig is a far cry from politics.
According to reports, Mr Hancock will join the latest line-up of stars for Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, which is also rumored to include former Pop Idol star Gareth Gates.
A TV insider confirmed Mr Hancock signed a deal with producers earlier this month, with filming expected to start next month at an ‘undisclosed location.’
The source said: ‘Matt impressed Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins producers when he spoke to them and has now agreed to take part.
‘He is the biggest name to have signed up for the next series and it is a real coup for the show.’
Matt is said to hope the stint will turn the tide of public opinion and show a different side of his character following his affair with Coladangelo.
They told The Sun: ‘Matt knows there is a mixed perception of him in the public eye and he wants to go on the show to reveal a different side to himself.

‘It is not unusual for MPs to take part in these kinds of shows and Matt thinks he could go far on SAS, despite it being the hardest of all the reality series on television.’
Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins is currently airing on Channel 4, with celebrities being set challenged by ex-US Marine Rudy Reyes including Eastenders star Maisie Smith.
The current season of the survival show has been dramatic, with Love Island star Amber Gill leaving after failing to complete a physical challenge on the beach, while Pete Wicks was forced to leave when he knocked himself unconscious during a challenge.
Metro.co.uk has reached out to reps for Matt Hancock and Celebrity SAS for comment.
