Celeb SAS star told to quit show by bosses and was left needing two operations

Celeb SAS: Who Dares Wins star Shannon Courtenay revealed how she needed two operations on her leg after taking part in the Channel 4 show.

The professional boxer, 29, explained how she had sustained major injuries in the ring prior to her reality show stint but decided to hide her “agonising” injury from the ex-special forces instructors.

Now, in an exclusive interview with Daily Star, the blonde bombshell explained how she powered through the gruelling six-week stint in the Jordanian desert.

She revealed: “I actually had a severe injury that needed two operations going into the show that I never told the producers about.”

The starlet managed to mask her injury from the telly bosses for the majority of her time on the show as she powered through the show without complaint.

Shannon continued: “I told them that I had a little niggle in my knee, but the truth is I had a ruptured ACL and I if I’d have told them they would never have let me do the show so I made out that it was a little pain.

“If you watch the show, you’ll see that my right leg is bulkier than my left because I’m wearing a big strap on my knee.”

However, the boxer couldn’t hide her pain for too long, after she was later caught out by one of the instructors who went on to call her an “idiot” for signing up to the show.

She admitted: “It was very stupid of me to do the show but luckily, I managed to do it but I was in agony doing it.

“You see as the show evolves that one of the DS actually notices that there’s a lot more wrong with my leg than I let on.”

It was at this point that Shannon confessed how Channel 4 producers urged her to “quit” the show in order to seek treatment on her injured leg – but the star decided to “grin and bear” the pain throughout her time on the show.

The star concluded: “They tried to tell me to quit and I refused, I just grinned and bear it, I thought I was just gonna get on with it – it is what it is.

“And then after the show was finished, I had to have two operations.”
