Mauricio Umansky ‘blacked out’ before ‘failure’ DWTS dance over marriage woes

Mauricio Umansky claimed he ‘blacked out’ before his ‘failure’ dance routine that aired on Dancing with the Stars last week.

Just before stepping onto the dance floor, he watched the latest trailer for the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, which put his marriage woes with Kyle Richards on full display.

The shocking teaser includes a moment where Kyle storms off after a heated family dinner as she struggles to communicate with her husband of 27 years.

Mauricio’s performance was noticeably poor after he watched the trailer, and scored disappointing 4’s across the board from the panel of judges.

Ahead of his performance, the RHOBH star tried to explain why he was so off his game.

“When I walked off that dance floor I just felt distraught,” he said. “I need to deliver this week.

“Right before the dance a trailer for the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills came out about my marriage and my kids were in the audience and I wasn’t addressing it with them.

“I don’t think I’ve ever experienced a failure like that where I blacked out.”

The RHOBH stars are currently separated but have released a joint statement clarifying they are not planning to divorce.

Mauricio was torn apart by fans on X/Twitter after last week’s debacle and tried his best to bring his A-game for this Tuesday’s episode.

He pulled off a much-improved performance with his pro partner Emma Slater, although he sadly still only managed to score 5’s from the judges.

Even so, viewers were glad to see the reality show star somewhat redeemed and were excited to see what he could have up his sleep over the coming weeks.

“Much better!!” one fan exclaimed. “Mauricio and Emma should feel so good about that! Very happy for them.”

Another praised their performance, writing: “His most improved dance.

“His lines were great, his frame was consistent, his musicality was on point.

“His performance, genuinely enjoying the dance, needs to project more, needs to be bigger, no matter the style of dance. What were those 5s tho?”

Dancing With The Stars continues Tuesdays on ABC and Disney+, and is available the next day on Hulu.
