ITV viewers were stunned to see Gemma Oaten on Million Pound Pawn last night.

Thursday night's episode of Million Pound Pawn had a surprise cameo from former Emmerdale actress Gemma Oaten who sought out the show's host Dan Hatfield to help her sell a family heirloom.

She was flooded with messages of support for her appearance on the show by fans on social media.

"@GemmaOaten just had to double take on my tv, you were on it…good job I've got it on record to watch the whole story," one viewer commented.

Nice to welcome you back on screen in Million Pound Pawn on ITV this evening Gemma," another said supportively after the episode.

Gemma, 38, is best known for playing Rachel Breckle in Emmerdale from 2011 to 2015. Her biggest storylines included Rachel's relationship with Sam Dingle, and her custody battle with Jai Sharma over their son Archie.

The actress returned to the soap in 2019, but her character was killed off later the same year.

Since leaving Emmerdale, Gemma has appeared on other soaps like Holy City and Coronation Street, but it's been a while since she made an appearance on the small screen, and fans were delight to see her again.

Gemma announced her appearance on the documentary pawn broking series via Instagram, before the episode aired. In the post, she explained that she was hoping to raise money for Seed, a charity supporting people with eating disorders.

In the episode, Gemma showed off a very sentimental piece of family jewellery. It was her Grandma Oaten's ring, which she found while clearing out her grandparent's house.

Gemma was curious to see what the sparky ring she brought in was worth, but she didn't expect very much.

"It's very, very different to any of the other jewellery that she had. It's three diamonds but if they're real, I don't know, I can't imagine that they're real,"she said on the show.

However, the ring ended up fetching a pretty penny. It scooped up more that £10,000 for Gemma's charity.

One viewer, who was shocking about the worth of the ring, said, "I'm just about in tears with @GemmaOaten's face being told her Grandma's ring is worth £10,500."

Another praised the episode of Million Pound Pawn, saying, "That was such a feel-good/heart-warming moment. Lots of love to Grandma Oaten."
