Good Morning Britain will be on the money next month as personal finance expert Martin Lewis returns to host the show alongside Susanna Reid.

The legendary MoneySavingExpert.com founder, 50, has landed a regular slot on the ITV breakfast show as people across the country face the cost of living crisis.

He is set to host Martin's Money Mondays this September, after earlier this month calling for action as experts warned energy bills could reach more than £4,200 this winter.

He reportedly said: "I’ve been the Money Saving Expert for over 20 years and in that time I’ve never seen anything like the cost of living crisis hitting the nation today, focused around the sickening rises in energy bills. Millions of families risk being forced into poverty by it."

He added: "Sadly right now the best I can hope to offer many of those families is damage limitation, only the politicians have the power to provide actual solutions.

"So sitting alongside Susanna each Monday, I’m glad GMB is giving us a dual purpose of practical help and holding power to account."

ITV has not yet confirmed when the finance whiz, who has regularly appeared on This Morning and Good Morning Britain, will start on the show permanently, but Monday, September 5, has been mooted as his first appearance.

It comes as host Susanna, 51, is due to return to the programme after taking time off to care for her three children while they were off school for the summer holidays.

Susanna's co-host Richard Madeley was on the daily morning show as normal, but her anchor role was taken temporarily by Charlotte Hawkins.
