Naga Munchetty leaves Charlie Stayt looking unimpressed after hitting him with a fish live on BBC Breakfast | The Sun

BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty couldn't resist hitting Charlie Stayt around the head today – after being handed an inflatable fish.

The host enjoyed a light-hearted moment on air today – though it didn't look like her co-host was quite so pleased.

Charlie didn't smile during the japes, which saw Naga tap him on the back of the head with the blow-up haddock, before waving it in his face.

The inflatable fish were in the studio in honour of football club Grimsby Town, who are famous for waving them at FA Cup games.

Sports presenter Jane Dougall was talking about the League 2 club's clash with Premier League club Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday.

Naga, 48, grabbed her fish from behind the sofa, saying: "What are you supposed to do with a fish? Someone gave us one here."

She then knocked BBC Breakfast's Charlie, 60, on the back of the head.

He said: "Well you're not supposed to do that. You're really not supposed to do that."

Jane agreed: "You're not supposed to slap someone in the face with a fish."

Naga, clearly finding the whole thing amusing, added: "Once upon a time it was quite a funny thing to see but times have changed."

Jane replied: "I don't know if everyone would agree with that," while Charlie tried to get back onto the subject of sport, urging her: "So go on, tell us more."

The sports reporter explained port town Grimsby's link to fish saying: "Harry the Haddock, that is their mascot. They've been waving them around throughout the tournament.

"They are the lowest ranked team left in the competition and they are away at Premier League Brighton tomorrow live on the BBC."
