BBC Breakfast: Naga says she’ll be ‘having words’ with director
Naga Munchetty issued a light-hearted warning to her boss on Friday’s instalment of BBC Breakfast.
It comes after the presenter and her co-host Ben Thomspon were speaking to Nikki Harvey, the handler of Reqs.
Reqs the dog was part of Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue service for the past 11 years, making him Britain’s longest-serving fire investigation dog.
However, after attending hundreds of incidents over the years, the black labrador has now retired.

Ben quipped: “That’s just you.”
As the adorable dog lay on the famous red sofa, it was clear Naga wanted him to be closer to her during the interview.

Trying to wind her up, Ben replied: “Reqs chose which side he wanted to sit on.”

Although the 48-year-old hit back: “He did not! That was our director and I’ll be having words with her later.”
As the duo laughed, Nikki told them more about Reqs as she admitted it’s quite unusual for a fire dog to retire so late.
Now he’s no longer a working dog, BBC Breakfast viewers learnt he’d be living with his handler full-time.
However, the team were given strict instructions ahead of Reqs’ appearance on the show.
Nikki admitted: “So, Reqs does like his food being a labrador he’s quite a greedy labrador.
“We did kindly ask if there was no food in the vicinity so he wasn’t tempted.”
Naga confessed they finished their drinks quickly on the show so the dog wasn’t enticed to investigate.
As the interview drew to a close the two presenters stroked Reqs and wished him a happy retirement.
