The second season of NCIS Hawaii is heating up ahead of its highly-anticipated crossover with flagship series NCIS and fellow spin-off NCIS Los Angeles. Before the historic event in January, however, Jane Tennant (played by Vanessa Lachey) and the team will have a fresh case to solve in episode eight, Curtain Call. And as is inevitable with the CBS drama, it’ll be far from smooth sailing, especially when Charlie-1 (Linc Hand) rears his head again.

Charlie-1 first entered the world of NCIS Hawaii back in season one’s 22nd episode, Ohana.

However, his comeback doesn’t exactly appear to sit well with Tennant in the newly-released promo for Curtain Call.

The trailer opens with Tennant, Kai (Alex Tarrant) and Noah (Jesse Boone) entering a house with their guns drawn, seemingly responding to a call of a break-in.

“Federal agents!” Jane yells as she spots Charlie-1 without knowing it’s him, while Kai barks: “Put your hands up!”

“Hey! Jane Tennant,” Charlie-1 says with a smirk as he turns to face Tennant, who soon lowers her weapon with exasperation etched on her face.

As the promo rolls on, it becomes clearer that Tennant will lock horns with the returning agent.

“This is our case,” Tennant says to Charlie-1 as the pair clearly realise they are on the tail of the same suspect.

Later, Charlie-1 tells Tennant: “We need to bring him in one way or another,” as they congregate at an airfield.

However, the pair’s clash will have to be set aside as they soon find themselves in a perilous scenario tracking down their suspect.

As they enter an unknown location, Ernie (Jason Antoon) can be heard panicking as he yells to their earpieces: “Gonna need some idea of where you are so we can send back-up.”

What follows is a series of explosions which fail to reveal who, if anyone, manages to survive.

However, first-look promo snaps appear to confirm Tennant will emerge unscathed – although the same can’t be said for Charlie-1.

In one picture, Tennant and Duggy Atwater (Charlie Hudson III) have to help Charlie-1 to his feet as he sports a giant gash on his leg.

The synopsis for the instalment also adds to the excitement as it teases there will be plenty of drama heading the team’s way.

It reads: “When a naval officer is murdered while moonlighting in community theatre, the NCIS team recruits a familiar face to help lead them to a ruthless international killer.

“Also, Kai enlists Whistler (Tori Anderson) to open an investigation into an old friend turned criminal.”

Actor Hand took to Instagram earlier this year to tease his upcoming stint on NCIS Hawaii.

Posing for a selfie in his trailer on set in Honolulu, Hawaii, Hand penned to his 10.5k followers: “Just making memories.

“Playing pretend and laughing at what Makup can do. Cheers,” he signed off. (Sic)

NCIS Hawaii season 2 continues Mondays on CBS in the USA. Season 1 can be streamed on Disney+ in the UK now.
