We love nothing more than a bit of nostalgia and looking back at our favourite shows. And we have to say, looking up Kym Valentine recently made us really happy.

The actress played Libby Kennedy on Neighbours from 1994-2004, joining the soap at age 17. She had her fair share of dramatic storylines during her time on the show.

They included a toxic relationship with Darren Stark, finding love with Drew Kirk, surviving a bike accident, almost giving birth in a barn and losing her husband in a riding accident.

Kym came back to the soap in 2007 and went away again in 2011. Her last stint on the soap was in 2014 for 20 years of the Kennedys but she's not been back since.

But what's she up to now you may wander? Here, we take a closer look at what she's done since Neighbours…

Health

While she was on Neighbours, Kym struggled with her health. She got pneumonia in 2008 and in 2009 her lung collapsed while she was on a flight from the US to Melbourne.

In 2010, she was diagnosed with a blood clot on her lung and taken to hospital for treatment. Susan Bower, executive producer told the Daily Telegraph at the time: "Unfortunately it is that time of year when people are prone to illness.

"We wish Kym a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing her next week when we return from a production break."

The same year, she checked herself into a clinic as she was suffering from exhaustion. In January 2011, she returned to the Neighbours set but took indefinite leave from filming a few months later.

The Herald Sun reported the actress was in hospital having treatment for a depressive illness. She came back to the soap for two weeks in 2014.

Family life

Kym was married to singer Fabio Tolli and shares daughter Millana Valentine-Tolli with him. They split in 2007.

It was revealed in April 2008 that Kym was in a relationship with actor Vince Colosimo. Reports suggested that the romance could cause tension on the Neighbours set.

This was because Colosimo had separated from fellow Neighbours actor Jane Hall. Jane had blamed Valentine for the split but she'd ended the relationship a year before Kym and Vince were introduced.

Kym announced in October 2008 that she and Vince were just friends and had not dated. She got engaged to former AFL player Trent Croad in March 2015.

She gave birth to their son Phoenix in March 2016 but they split in December 2017.

Career

Kym's been in a number of films and plays away of Neighbours. She played Baby in the stage production of Dirty Dancing at the Theatre Royal, Sydney.

She's also been in short films including Harvey and Junk Mail and The Choir Girl. The actress also starred as a housewife in Nine Network's miniseries Fat Tony & Co.

Kym's turned her hand to producing too for the upcoming film Residence. She acts in the film as Connie the Phlegmatic.
