NETFLIX is reportedly working on producing several spin-off shows for its successful teen horror series Wednesday.
After a successful first season, the streaming giant plans to expand into the individual lives of the Addams family members.
Bloomberg has reported that Netflix plans to bring to screens the lives of the different family members in the teen drama Wednesday, starting with a solo season for former Saturday Night Live star Fred Armisen's character, the loveable but kooky uncle Fester.
The show, which Scream star Jenna Ortega fronts as main character Wednesday, gained huge viewership ratings after its release last year.
According to the news outlet, a Fester spin-off is in the very early stages of discussion, with talent and storyline still yet to be determined.
Therefore, such a series might not make it past the development stages.
Reports of the streaming giant producing a spin-off series came after they confirmed on X(Twitter) that the popular show would get a second season in January this year.
Co-showrunners Miles Millar and Alfred Gough told Tudum at the time of the announcement: “We can't wait to dive headfirst into another season and explore the kooky, spooky world of Nevermore.”
Production for the second season of the show will commence in 2024.

Recently, Netflix also revealed that they will be relocating the show's production base from Romania to Ireland for its second instalment.

A new addition to the Addams Family has also been confirmed in a video by Netflix featuring some of the cast from the first season discussing the upcoming season.
During the video, Emma Myers, who played Enid Sinclair, read out on particular fan theory alongside Hunter Doohan, who played Tyler Galpin, and Joy Sunday, who portrayed Bianca Barclay.
Emma said: "This theory speculates that season two will introduce a new member of the Addams family."
All the other three actors then replied: "This… is… true," confirming the theory.
However, Hunter added: "But we don’t know who."
The video then cuts to Jenna explaining that she would "love to see Cousin Itt" join season two while the others all said they’d like to see their grandmama join.
Most recently, the 21-year-old Wednesday star has promised fans that the mood of Wednesday in the second season will change as she doesn’t want the new season to focus so much on love as the first set of episodes did
Jenna told Variety: "We're ditching any romantic love interest for Wednesday, which is really great.
"We've decided we want to lean into the horror aspect of the show a little bit more.
