In addition to giving first look at the big screen iteration of comic book supervillain Sabbac, the newly-unveiled trailer brings together the Justice Society for a not-so-peaceful task.

AceShowbiz -A new official trailer of “Black Adam” is here to hype up upcoming release of the new DC movie. Making its way out online on Thursday, September 8, the more-than-2-minute video offers a glimpse of the demonic villain Sabbac (Marwan Kenzari) among other new scenes.

The first glimpse of the supervillain comes around two minutes into the video as the red figure is seen rising from what looks like boiling hot water. He soon faces off against Hawkman a.k.a. Carter Hall, who is portrayed by Aldis Hodge.

The rest of the trailer, meanwhile, shows how Black Adam (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) comes to clash with the Justice Society of America, which members include Hawkman, Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo), Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell) and Doctor Fate (Pierce Brosnan). At the beginning of the video, someone is heard raising concern about the titular character.

“This loose cannon needs to be locked down before innocent people start getting hurt,” the person says of Black Adam. Answering the order from a higher authority, Hawkman says, “You find us a cell that can hold him, we’ll take care of the rest.”

After the rest of the team gathers, they confront Black Adam to “negotiate [his] peaceful surrender.” But it’s not going to be an easy task as Black Adam has no intention to surrender. “I’m not peaceful. Nor do I surrender,” he declares, before adamantly adding, “I kneel before no one.”

That, however, will soon change with the arrival of the supervillain Sabbac, who is described as the militant leader of the criminal organization Intergang, possessed by a demon. Kenzari portrays the Ishmael Gregor version of the character.

“Black Adam” is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra with the script written by Adam Sztykiel, Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani based on characters from DC Comics. Dwayne Johnson recently revealed why he fought to keep his character out of “Shazam!” (2019), which was rumored to feature a Black Adam cameo.

“I made a phone call,” the wrestler-turned-actor told Vanity Fair. “I said, ‘I have to share my thoughts here. It’s very unpopular…’ because everybody thought, ‘Hey, this script is great, let’s go make this movie.’ I said, ‘I really think that you should make ‘Shazam!’, make that movie on its own in the tone that you want. And I think we should separate this as well.’ “

“I always get asked, nine times out of 10, ‘Well, what’s taken them so long? How come we haven’t heard of this character?’ ” he continued. “We get a chance to deliver a movie, deliver a character, that’s never been seen before. There has been no other Black Adam.”

Also seeing the return of Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, “Black Adam” is scheduled to open in U.S. theaters on October 21.
