A stern warning was issued by the hosts when it was revealed that Dancing On Ice would have have "no skate off" this week as only the viewers make the brutal decision.

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby welcomed viewers to Musicals On Ice for an exciting fun-filled evening of entertainment on the famous rink.

But before things got going, Phillip warned viewers at home to vote for their favourite couple because of a sudden "rule change".

He revealed that there would be no skate off this week, with viewers having the final say and the couple with the lowest score going straight home.

Phil urged fans at home to make sure they're putting their votes in on Sunday night (January 29) in order to save their favourites.

Fans were quick to react on social media, with many taking to Twitter to discuss the sudden rule change under the programme's hashtag.

"The lack of skate off means the judges scores are going to show exactly who they want gone," wrote one viewer.

Another then penned: "I’m annoyed by the lack of a skate off tonight I always love to see what songs the couples get/choose for the skate off routines."

"It’s brutal there’s no skate off," added a third.

A fourth then penned: "Why no skate off tonight though? Don’t know how to feel about that."

While a fifth asked: "Is there a reason why the skate off has been scrapped?"

This came as the celebrity hopefuls and their professional skating partners transformed into characters from beloved musicals.

Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu who won Love Island 2022, and who is competing in this year's Dancing On Ice, looked completely unrecognisable as she transformed into Maria from The Sound Of Music.

With very short blonde hair, fans almost didn't recognise the Turkish beauty who usually sports dark brunette locks.

Dancing On Ice airs Sunday nights on ITV1 and ITVX.
