Piers Morgan sends out personalised Christmas cards with cheeky dig at Boris Johnson

PIERSMorgan sends out personalised Christmas cards with cheeky dig at Boris Johnson

He'd sent a gift to his friend and style director Cheryl Munoz, which she'd shared on Instagram.

The photo of a bottle of Laurent-Perrier Champagne in a box had Piers' Christmas card at the front.

And on it was an old picture of Piers with the now-Prime Minister.

He's pouring Boris a glass of wine at a party.

Piers captioned the card: "Merry Christmas Business Meeting!"

It was a nod to the news story this week that pictured Boris drinking wine and eating cheese with 18 other people in Downing Street garden during the lockdown.

Denying it was against the rules enforced by police at the time, Boris said: "Those were people at work talking about work.'

"This is where I live, it is where I work. Those were meetings of people at work, talking about work."

The photo, obtained by the Guardian, showed Mr Johnson, his then-fiancee Carrie, and 17 other staff members in the garden on May 15, 2020.

There are bottles of wine and a cheeseboard on a table in front of the Prime Minister.

Like many others, Piers has been left appalled by the photograph that emerged from May 2020.

And in a series of scathing tweets about the government this week, Piers said: "Judging from people I know, the damage done to Govt’s Covid messaging by No10’s illicit rule-breaking parties & lies about them, cannot be overstated.

"Public trust’s been destroyed by the brazen double standards. People now doing what they think best, not what Boris tells them."

He added; "Boris Johnson delays decision’ – the four least surprising words in the English language."

Sharing a laugh at the Prime Minister's expense, Piers made personalised Christmas cards to send out to his pals.

After sharing a picture, his stylist Cheryl said: "Thank you Piers Morgan for always sorting out my Xmas day tipple and the best Xmas card ever!

"Have a wonderful Christmas x."
