Michelle McManus stunned fans with her transformation when she appeared on Loose Women.

The former Pop Idol winner was on Tuesday's (28 November) instalment of the ITV daytime show and looked far different from her singing show days, with flame-red hair instead of her usual brunette locks. Fans could not get over the star's jaw-dropping makeover and flocked to social media to comment on it.

"F*** Michelle McManus is on Loose Women with red hair," one person exclaimed on X, formerly Twitter. "Looks totally different." said someone else.

Another joked: "Michelle McManus is in her Rihanna 2010 era." "Michelle looking lovely, love the hair and lashes," said another fan.

Someone else gushed: "OMG! MICHELLE MCMANUS IS ON LOOSE WOMEN!!!!! Breathe BREATHE Breathe!!!!!!!" "So lovely to see Michelle McManus back on our screens," said one viewer, suggesting: "She would be a fantastic Loose Woman!"

During the interview, Michelle opened up about the experience of winning the singing contest in 2003 and how there had been a lot of focus on her appearance, rather than just her voice. The 43-year-old said she had been reflecting on it and that she had found a scrapbook made by her dad which contained news articles from that time.

She said: "One of the first articles that popped out said at the top 'Can Michelle sing? Yes. Is she going to be a pop star? But come on lads, you wouldn't would you?'

"And that's where it went." "I was 23," said the star, saying that in her mind she just entered a singing contest and had no idea the conversation would go in that direction.

Becoming tearful, she told hosts Janet Street Porter, Frankie Bridge and co that while she felt she was doing well in the competition, she felt "such shame" over the narrative in the press at the time. Crying, she said at the time she felt as if she had let people down.
