Richard Osman steps in to defend Pointless replacement after major backlash from fans | The Sun

RICHARD Osman has been forced to defend Pointless' new guest host after she faced backlash from viewers.

Back in April The Sun reported how Richard, 51, had decided to walk away from the show after 13 years.

He had filmed over 1,300 episodes and 30 series.

The BBC had announced he would be replaced by guests hosts to front the quiz show alongside Alexander Armstrong.

At the time, Richard released a statement on his departure, saying: "Pointless has been a joy from start to finish, working alongside my friend Alexander Armstrong, backed by the most wonderful team, and for the best viewers in the world.

"I will miss everyone so much, but I’m thrilled that I’ll still be presenting the celebrity shows. I can’t thank everyone enough for 12 amazing years."
