Sarah Ferguson has been described as "anxious" as she made her presenting debut on This Morning.
The Duchess of York made her first appearance on the ITV show on Monday (November 20), where she took on presenting duties with co-hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary. In addition to presenting the show, she also became the show's editor, choosing the stories to be discussed.
However, as the title cards rolled at the beginning of the show, Fergie could be seen clasping her hands as she wrapped her arms around her co-hosts. She joked at the beginning of the programme that she was "terrified" at hosting the show.

Now, a body language expert has said that Sarah was seen to be visibly nervous as she went on to present the programme. During the course of the show, she admitted to feeling looser, despite describing herself as "the fluff".
Speaking on behalf of Slingo, body language expert Inbaal Honigman said: "As Dermot and Alison introduce Sarah Ferguson to the This Morning audience, she is seen holding on to both of them. Arm in arm with Alison, she then places her hand on Dermot's shoulder. This tells us that she feels very comfortable with the co-hosts, but anxious about the situation that she is in.
Inbaal continued: "Touching her presenter buddies and knowing they are close to her gives her comfort, and helps boost her confidence in front of the camera. When the jolly duo let go of the Duchess, she then laces her hands together, which is a gesture of self-soothing."
Honigman added that Sarah's connections with Alison and Dermot show her honesty, adding that she has nothing to hide for viewers. She also said that as she talks with her hands, she is happy to give and receive advice and information, which would help her going through the show.
"She is excited. Her face betrays her nerves," Inbaal continued. "Even though Sarah smiles fully with her whole face, and even laughs, sharing her joy at being there, we see her bite her lips together here and there, which lets us know that she's nervous, and is also a sign that she doesn't want to say anything wrong."
Sarah's inclusion on the show shocked viewers watching at home, who could not believe that Fergie was turning into a presenter. Many fans took to social media to make their feelings known.
One fan watching the show said: "I'm obviously having some fever dream seeing Fergie host." Whilst another fan hit out at ITV bosses for her new career: "ITV has lost the plot, massive switch off!"
This Morning airs every weekday at 10am on ITV1 and ITVX.
