Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) has a lot on her plate in upcoming Coronation Street episodes as she’s asked to pay a visit to Max Turner (Paddy Bever), who was recently arrested after his involvement in Griff Reynolds’ (Michael Condron) terrorism gang.
Currently spending time in a secure training centre, Max is brutally attacked soon and once David (Jack P Shepherd) learns of what has gone on, he asks Alya to go and see him.
A frightened and lonely Max opens up about the wrong path his life took that led to Alya getting hurt and to him being sent to the STC.
This chat does not end well, as Alya berates Max and calls him pathetic.
This meeting comes after Alya was stabbed by Blake (Adam Little) in Speed Daal, who wanted to put a stop to a drop-in centre that was organised by Maria (Samia Longchambon).
It became apparent that Blake had gone on the stabbing spree after viewing the propaganda videos Max had made, which led to his arrest.
The teen then accepted that he must face the consequences for his actions, which included hurling racist abuse at the likes of Alya and Daryan (Twana Omer) and being aware a member of the extremism gang had planted a bomb in the Speed Daal van – which also put Alya in hospital after she drove the vehicle to a clear ground and escaped just seconds before the bomb exploded.
While times are tough for Max right now, Corrie boss Iain MacLeod recently revealed there are happier times on the horizon, as he finds himself an unlikely new love interest.
Coronation street airs these scenes Wednesday February 22 at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
