FINANCES are Leyla Cavanagh's main worry this week as business at Take A Vow is struggling.

Desperate for cash, the Emmerdale wedding planner gets embroiled in a dangerous plan with dealer Callum. Get the lowdown.

1. Leyla makes a horrific decision

Despite being caught red-handed by David Metcalfe with cocaine, Leyla Cavanagh is failing at taking a step back from the drug business.

The wedding planner portrayed by Roxy Shahidi accepts a shady deal this week as her drug dealer, Callum, returns to the eponymous village.

This is mostly due to her growing financial burden, especially after being fired by Kim Tate.

Leyla is firstly alarmed when Callum (Tom Ashley) shows up at Take A Vow to ask her to store drugs in exchange for cash.

Determined to turn her finances around, Leyla accepts his offer, although she knows she's crossing a line in doing so.

The following day, Callum turns up again but with a much larger bag of drugs than she agreed to store.

But Callum knows how to get to her and offers to pay her extra – leaving her short on options.

Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough) is surprised when she spots Callum outside Take A Vow and asks him if Leyla is still scoring.

Little do they know Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano) is watching from a distance, convinced he's witnessing a drug deal between Suzy and Callum.

And things will be getting out of hand as he plans to make Suzy pay for her involvement in Holly's death.

2. Matty gets revenge

In later scenes, Matty searches Take A Vow – and is shocked to find a large holdall of drugs.

Matty panics, grabs the bag and walks out before planting the bag full of drugs in Suzy's car.

However, when he attends Rhona Goskirk's hen party, Matty is seething to see Suzy made the trip after rekindling her relationship with Vanessa Woodfield.

The latter even made her promise she had stopped taking drugs an warned her – one more mishap and they're over.

Fuming, Matty berates Suzy and tells her she's not welcome in the Dales.

Suzy doesn't want to cause any more trouble than she already has and drives away – while Matty calls the police to report the drugs she has in her car.

Matty believes Suzy is bound to get comeuppance and her relationship with Vanessa is bound to be sabotaged.

Meanwhile, Leyla is flustered when she realises the drugs are missing.

When he finds out something is missing, Callum warns Leyla he won't be responsible for his actions if she doesn't find the missing drugs by the end of the day.

3. Priya gets sacked

Leyla already has enough on her mind as her financial woes are at the top of her priority list, particularly after Kim Tate fired her as her wedding planner.

This week, however, someone else pays the price of her bad budgeting – Fiona Wade's Priya Sharma.

While she's taken a backseat from most of the drama in the eponymous village, Priya struggled earlier in 2022 after being severely burned in October, 2021.

The incident caused her to relapse into her eating disorder but she managed to pull through.

Sadly, Priya is left gobsmacked when Leyla decides to fire her from Take A Vow this week.

How will she cope?

4. Faith steals from her ex

Meanwhile, Faith Dingle (Sally Dexter) intends to live her life to the fullest and without any chemotherapy while she still can.

This leads to her to potentially getting on the wrong side of the law this week, as she goes to astonishing lengths to steal from one of her former partners.

Coming up, Chas (portrayed by Lucy Pargeter) is suspicious when she sees her mother all glammed up heading out with Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter).

Faith remains tight-lipped about her intentions when Nate question what they're up to.

But she eventually comes clean and explains her plan to take back something that belongs to her from her step-daughter's home… as they chat outside an anonymous house.

Nate is uneasy but is left feeling even more awkward when Faith blags her way inside Angus' house, despite his suspicions.

But it doesn't take him long to figure out who Faith really is and he demands she leaves.

Faith takes it in stride and vows to return for what's hers while Nate is exasperated by his enigmatic grandmother.

The following day, Nate blatantly refuses to help Faith put her plan to go back to Angus' into action.

Once again, Faith doesn't let this get in her way and drives off in his car.

Angus is bamboozled when a disguised Faith turns up at his home and claims to be a photographer for a real estate agent.

He lets her in, unable to recognise her.

Soon enough, Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Nate join her and can't believe their eyes when they see Faith darting out of Angus' with a stolen bag.

But the jig is up when Angus recognises Nate from the previous day and figures out the thief must be Faith.

All is well for Faith when she reflects on a good day's work as Chas, Nate and Cain are chuffed with the box of memories she's stolen back.

Cain and Chas reminisce about their childhood while they search through Faith's box and the group falls into laughter.

But could Faith get into serious trouble?

5. Dawn makes a shock discovery about Clemmie

Heartbroken after losing Clemmie due to PC Harriet Finch calling Social Services, Dawn Taylor's jaw drops when she figures out who the girl's biological father is.

It all begins when the character portrayed by Olivia Bromley becomes a cause for concern for her father Will (Dean Andrews).

Before long, he suggests she call social services to check in on the youngster and Dawn is determined to follow his advice.

In later scenes, Dawn takes her husband Billy Fletcher by surprise when she tells him she knows who Clemmie's biological father is – her former partner Alex (Liam Boyle).

This means that Alex, who also happens to be her son Lucas' father was with Beth while he was involved with her.

Dawn is furious at the betrayal but, the following day, she makes peace with Alex's infidelity, knowing Clemmie and Lucas should be together.

A tearful Dawn is then shocked when Billy breaks the news to her that he called social services, claiming they'd like custody of Clemmie.

This is a surprise to Dawn as Billy was the first one to suggest Clemmie should be given to social services and she's grateful for his change of heart.

However, Dawn's hopes are shattered when social services make it clear they will need Alex's consent to get custody of Clemmie.

But Billy insists that they should at least try to convince Alex to let them get custody of the young girl and Dawn knows he's right.

The pair meet Alex in prison the following day and he's taken aback when he finds out they know all about Clemmie.

Alex initially outright refuses to let Dawn and Billy foster Clemmie, leading to the latter blasting him for his decision.

He then changes his mind and Dawn is relieved.

But as he shows off a smug smile, can he really be trusted?

6. Lydia crumbles under pressure

Kim Tate (portrayed by Claire King) recently fired Leyla Cavanagh as her wedding planner, as mentioned above.

This has led her to rely on Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) to take over.

But wedding planning clearly isn't one of her biggest talents and Lydia soon spreads herself too thin.

Coming up, the pressure gets too much for her and Will is left with no other choice but to turn to professionals.

Could Leyla get the job back?

7. Mary gets the wrong idea

Elsewhere in the village, Mary Goskirk (Louise Jameson) believe she's found romance – in the form of Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick).

Mary recently came out as a lesbian to her daughter Rhona who had a hard time accepting her sexuality.

This week, Mary opens up about her sexual orientation to someone who can understand what she's gone through, Vanessa.

But the vet's kindness is mistaken for something else as Mary leans in to kiss her.
