This week, however, Chloe Harris investigates and soon lets his secrets out in the open in Emmerdale.

1. Chloe kidnaps a child

The young mother-to-be portrayed by Jessie Elland has a big week ahead of her.

Chloe recently found out the late Al Chapman was unfaithful to Kerry Wyatt after checking his bank accounts.

She told Kerry the truth, which only made her pain worse.

Coming up on ITV, Chloe goes to desperate lengths to prove Al's infidelity, fully convinced the businessman's other woman was none other than his former fiancée, Priya Sharma (played by Fiona Wade).

KERRY'S HEARTBREAK

Emmerdale fans say the same thing as Kerry Wyatt quits the village

Yet the worry is short-lived as a furious Priya soon finds her daughter with a defiant Chloe whom she warns off.

The following day, Chloe comes by determined to find out the truth about Al.

But she surely doesn't expect Priya to prove her innocence by cross-checking Al's bank statements…

The Take A Vow employee shows Chloe empathy as she also recognises her former partner's cheating habits.

Chloe later has a eureka moment, realising she knows who Al was cheating on Kerry with.

Over at The Woolpack, the door slams open to reveal a manic Chloe.

She appears in the pub and asserts she knows who Al was seeing… as Chas Dingle pales, trying to hide her panic.

Could Chas (Lucy Pargeter) finally be exposed for her illicit romance as her husband Paddy becomes suspicious of her behaviour?

2. Mackenzie is forced to confess

Woolpack landlady Charity Dingle is slowly moving on from a devastating ectopic pregnancy, and her life is getting back to normal.

Little does she know Mack (played by Lawrence Robb) has a bombshell confession to make.

And, once again, Chloe could be the one allow the truth to be revealed.

A pregnant Chloe goes to a sonogram appointment and while there, the sound of her child's beating heart fills the room and Chloe is overcome with emotion.

Later on, Charity (Emma Atkins) catches up with Chloe after noticing her order a soft drink at the local pub.

She guesses correctly that Chloe is pregnant and promises to keep her secret.

However, Chloe tightens when an oblivious Charity asks her who the father is.

Chloe's answer will remain a mystery until these scenes are aired next week but Mackenzie is soon told about Chloe's pregnancy.

He forces himself to remain calm after Charity breaks the news to him.

At Keepers, he despairs when Chloe confirms that the baby is his and she'll be keeping it.

Alarmed to find out that Kerry knows the entire truth, Chloe reassures him by saying she'll keep schtum.

But Mackenzie is still terrified Charity could get wind of their one night stand… which prompts him to make a drastic decision.

Mack believes he has no other option and he needs to take the bull by the horns.

He approaches Charity and takes a moment to compose himself, urging her to take a seat.

Will he really admit to cheating on Charity?

3. Samson feels isolated

Meanwhile, Samson Dingle (Sam Hall) is still failing to take responsibility and cope with fatherhood.

But could his behaviour get out of control as he feels increasingly pushed to the side, unlike Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell) and their daughter Esther.

This week, Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) fully embraces her role as an adoptive grandmother by buying brand new toys for the baby.

However, she hides them all from Samson after he refuses tohave anything to do with Esther, yet again, while Lydia and Sam vow to be present for the new-born.

The thought of Lydia and Sam being involved in her daughter's life delights Amelia as she recognises their efforts.

She later softens when she opens up the gifts they have bought for little Esther.

Elsewhere, Samson is feeling exiled from his own family when he spots them all enjoying a cosy café date with Dan Spencer, Amelia and Esther.

Lydia lets the lad know where she stands and insists that Esther is part of the Dingle clan.

To top it all off, Amelia is taken aback when Lydia says she will plan everything for Esther's christening.

As it dawns on Samson that he's been ousted from the group, Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) has completely stepped up to the plate.

What will Samson do?

4. David frames Victoria

Fans may have thought David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) managed to claw his way out of his financial turmoil but he's nowhere near out of the woods.

The storm has heavily compromised his finances once again.

After trying to file a fraudulent insurance claim following a car collision with Nicola King, David turned to Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) for help.

But he's ready to land her into trouble, much to his chagrin, to save himself.

Coming up, David shuffles through the post in his shop and comes across a letter addressed to his other half from the Police ticketing office.

He feels wretched after reading the notice, deciding to hide his shame and the FPN from Victoria.

To make matters worse, Jacob Gallagher and Victoria both enter and reveal their plans to support him with his delivery scheme.

But David's ordeal only becomes more harrowing…

5. Harry goes to hospital

David is overwhelmed and this soon leads to horrific consequences when Victoria's son Harry is injured in his care.

While David is awash with self-hatred, Victoria rushes to Harry, driving through temporary traffic lights.

She's then stopped by a waiting police and with her main goal being getting to Harry's side, she quickly concedes to a fine and points on her licence.

Victoria rushes through the hospital to find a lethargic Harry being watched over by a concerned David.

He then reveals he'd opened his shop, leaving the children unsupervised and Victoria is fuming.

How will David tell her she's received six points on her licence?

6. Leyla and Liam call it quits

Tragedy has struck and tarnished Leyla and Liam Cavanagh's (respectively played by Roxy Shahidi and Jonny McPherson) year-long marriage.

But unlike some couples in the eponymous village who manage to stick together through thick and thin, they decide they've jumped through all the hurdles they could.

This week, things are tense between Leyla and Liam as they try to spend time together.

Their conversation soon runs out of steam, leading them to the inevitable conclusion the spark is gone.

Though they've tried, Leyla is tearful as Liam declares their relationship is mostly defined by grief, loss and lies.

The wedding planner and the GP both come to the conclusion they are no good for each other and reel from the magnitude of their decision.

Heartbroken, they remove their own wedding rings, marking the end of their romance.

7. Vanessa leaves the village

Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) won't be in the Dales for much longer, just as fans expected her to leave the eponymous village.

In scenes due to air this week, Vanessa makes a decision about potentially leaving for Canada.

Another exit looms for the Yorkshire-based program which has seen many of its stars move on to new projects in recent weeks, particularly during an explosive anniversary week.
