Things are going great for Mackenzie (Lawrence Robb) and Chloe (Jessie Elland) in Emmerdale, especially as they’ve been brought closer together by deciding to have Reuben christened. What better time to throw a hand grenade on their relationship.

The fallout from this one is set to be huge.

Though they’ve made the decision on the christening, Chloe is still anxious about finding godparents for her little boy. But they find the perfect three; Moira (Natalie J Robb), Matty (Ash Palmisciano), and Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson), and things seem to be all wrapped up in a bow.

But they hit a snag – the venue falls through and Chloe is left panicking. Charity (Emma Atkins) offers them the Woolpack in a serious gesture, but Chloe laughs in her face. But when they realise it’s actually their only option and that Charity is serious, Mack is forced to crawl round and grovel to Charity to take her up on her offer.

Mack pops round, chat gets emotional, and the pair do the most soap thing imaginable – they give into their forbidden feelings and next thing they know, their clothes are all over the floor.

Given the rush, it’s unlikely they were careful is all we’ll say.

Now Mack has gone and done it. He makes a dash for it while Charity is left to think their impromptu sex means something. For Mack, it certainly does not, and he’s overridden with guilt when Chloe is sweet to him. Problem is, Charity has a mouth on her, and this secret won’t stay buried for long.

Mack is terrified and heads to Butlers for some advice from Moira, who slaps him with reality – he’ll lose Reuben if Chloe finds out, so he needs to get his head straight ASAP. He needs to make a choice about who he wants and then do what it takes to make it right.

But the decision may be taken out of his hands as Charity blabs to Chas (Lucy Pargeter) she slept with Mack. Will Chas pass on the good news to Chloe? Or will Chloe find out when Charity plans her own christening in a few months time?
