Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) is completely smitten by Courtney Vance (Stephanie Davis) in Coronation Street, despite the fact that they have very different lifestyles.
With Courtney having been dumped by husband Darren (Ryan Early), she has since moved in with her much younger lover, though their housing situation is far from ideal.
Struggling to deal with house sharing with the Alahan’s, Courtney is set to make an expensive demand of Aadi – that he find them a flat of their own, and fast.
Unfortunately, the lifestyle she has grown accustomed to isn’t exactly within their budget, and so her expectations leave Aadi in an awkward position.
‘She’s totally in denial,’ actress Stephanie Davis revealed. ‘She’s looking at these big posh flats in really beautiful areas.
He’s trying to really politely, God help him, say “We can’t really get that.” She’s just like “But this has got a feature wall!” She’s just oblivious to it because she’s just been so used to living that lifestyle.’
Completely head over heels for her, Aadi agrees to step up the search, admitting that he loves her.
It isn’t long before things start to go their way, as Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove) reveals that Shelly’s flat is available to rent, and the pair are quick to announce that they will be moving into it.
But will it live up to Courtney’s expectations?
‘When she sees the flat I think that is a big reality check for her, definitely. It’s a bit of a shock to her system.
‘But she’s gone through with it now, she doesn’t want to lose face to Darren. She’s trying to be like “No, it’s great, I’m fine.” But is it really?’
